Batteries and Repairs for Mobility Devices

The ADP does not cover costs associated with the maintenance of or repairs to assistive devices. The costs for batteries and repairs for mobility devices such as wheelchairs are paid if these costs are not otherwise reimbursed by another source.
 

PROCEDURE

1. Participant to obtain estimate from the mobility aids vendor on the costs for batteries or wheelchair repairs. 

2. Case Manager reviews need and documents in the Social Assistance Computer System –notes- the request and the cost. 

3. The supervisor will review the request and update the Social Assistance Computer System notes accordingly. 

4. Case Manager to request benefits using the actual cost which will include the applicable taxes.
