PROCEDURE

The regulations provide for flexible board and lodging rates based on actual boarding and lodging cost up to the maximum monthly payment. 

An amount for basic needs for those recipients paying board and lodging, who are not living with parents, must be calculated in accordance with the table below which is subject to change based on Provincial changes to OW regulations.

For each additional dependant, add $147 if the dependant is 18 years of age or older, or $17 if the dependant is 13-17 years of age, or $0 if the dependant is 0-12 years of age.
 

ADDITIONAL AMOUNT FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES 

Where the applicant or recipient is boarding and lodging, an additional amount of $50 per case will be paid. The $50 is not subject to the maximum of the range shown in the table above. 
 

CHARGEABLE INCOME 

Any chargeable income received by the recipient or dependent adult(s) must be deducted from his/her financial entitlement.
