The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board is taking part in the 2025 Northern Ontario Service Deliverers Association Conference, which gets underway in Sault Ste. Marie today.

NOSDA Board Chair Michelle Boileau says the three-day conference theme is Human Services: Made in the North with over 180 delegates representing all 11 Northern Ontario Service Managers responsible for delivering essential social and human services taking part.

She adds some of those services include Ontario Works, Early Years programs, Housing and Homelessness, and Paramedic Services, adding they are gathering together to advance integrated, community-driven solutions to the complex challenges in the North.

She adds two speakers of note are Iain De Jong, the President and CEO of OrgCode Consulting, a nationally recognized expert in homelessness response and Greg Sage, President of the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs, with more than 35 years of experience in paramedic services.

The event also includes Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB Board Chair Bruce Killah and Baldwin Township Mayor Vern Gorham.
