The Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB is extremely proud to share that five Paramedic staff were recipients of the Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal in 2025.Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB
ESPANOLA – Each year, during the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs Conference, a select group of paramedics are awarded the Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal.
This medal is granted to staff who have a minimum of 20 years experience in the Paramedic Services profession and who have shown themselves to be of the highest quality both within and outside of the workplace.
The Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB is extremely proud to share that five Paramedic staff were recipients of this honour in 2025.
Primary Care Paramedics Melanie Laramee and Eyk Scheitel as well as Superintendents Darren Simond, Zachary Tremblay, and Curtis Watson received their medals on Thursday September 25 during the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs Fall Symposium Conference in London.
“It is with great pride that I congratulate this year’s recipients of the Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal” said Robert Smith, Chief of Paramedic Services with the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board. “Their commitment and dedication to providing exceptional care is unmatched. This recognition is highly deserved.”
